It’s one thing to capture destruction. It’s quite another to immortalize rebirth.
Tsunami—stories of human resilience is a living audiovisual media project designed to establish and sustain a source of socially responsible development funds and a body of knowledge and support for the communities impacted by the tsunami. The project will go on as long as reconstruction efforts do in these communities all around the Indian Ocean. And then it will go on longer,
- photographing the reconstruction efforts, creating a body of high quality images and other media content;
- documenting and safeguarding the new knowledge, insights and innovations now being developed, for present and future generations;
- ensuring the people and their communities are never forgotten; and
- raising future funds for sustainable development of the tsunami-impacted regions, particularly for the time when international aid ceases to flow.
